Little bodies.. big hearts.
If you’ve ever met a child fighting cancer then you’ve looked into the face of a courageous kid. There are a lot of remarkable people in life but none come close to the children who’ve endured and fought cancer. Their courage is captivating.
The Portrait Project: Courage & Cancer is aimed at capturing that strength and spirit. It started with an inspirational 14 year old who faced with a troubling prognosis lived her life with joy and generosity. While undergoing treatment at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas the teen made jewelry. She sold it and donated the money to The Children’s Cancer Fund, a non-profit that provides funding for local research.
Her life and death inspired this project. To her family and many others who’ve lost loved ones, portraits are priceless.
This is why I teamed with The Portrait Project to photograph eleven children who’ve battled or are battling cancer. These portraits will be unveiled during a reception, gallery showing and auction. The portraits will go to the families and the money raised will be donated to The Children’s Cancer Fund.
I would love for everyone in the DFW area to come to the event, meet the children and families being honored and see their portraits as they are unveiled. Follow the Portrait Project on Facebook.
